They say there are around 120 people moving to Austin every day. Whether you just moved to Austin or are a long time native, the one thing everyone can agree on is that Austin loves its local establishments. Read this article and learn where to shop locally! So regardless if you have been in Austin for 20 years, 5 years, or just moved here-  you’ll know what to respond with the next time someone visiting asks you where to shop.

1.     Stag Provisions for Men

Men’s clothing boutiques are sparse here in Austin. Don’t feel like you have to go to the mall to get your men’s items. Come here if you are looking for upscale casual modern day wear. With a Shiner in hand, enjoy the wide range of designers they offer. The store may have opened a second location in California, but their roots are planted here in Austin, Texas.

2.     Kendra Scott

Kendra Scott truly is one of Austin’s finest gems. I dare you to find a girl here that does not own at least one item of her jewelry.  Scott’s designs are simple yet bold. Her jewelry can easily take you from day to night and work with about any outfit in your closet. She is also a big supporter of charities, and whats not to like about supporting a designer that supports others in need. She started her shop here in Austin, Texas and now you can find her stuff across the US and on numerous celebrities.

3.     By George

Back in the day this was one of the first few high end clothing stores in Austin. By George has been able to withstand the test of time because of their unparalleled style. If you want to wear what you see in the magazines, this is the place to shop in Austin.  This store also has men’s clothing as well. As By George offers Austinites style with good customer service, this is one store you will not want to miss.

4.       Parts and Labour

Located in the middle of Austin’s shopping haven- South Congress, Parts and Labour resembles true Austin. From clothing to jewelry to art they have it all. Parts and Labour can be described as a retailer for local artists and designers. Whether you need an Austincentric gift or you’re looking for something for you, don’t miss out on this shop.

5.      A Town

Nested on Burnet Road, you won’t miss this shop with their funky sign. This shop is everything Austinites like- one part style and one part funky. Locally owned, enjoy a wide selection of going out tops and casual wear. A Town also carries a wide range of jewelry, art, and gifts for friends.  Whether you are shopping for yourself or for friends, this is one store in town you will not want to miss!
